Robot cell for the mechanical inner deburring of drive and transmission shafts

One of the greatest production challenges in machine manufacturing is the automated deburring of deep drill holes with cross holes or intersecting drill holes. Such holes often occur in drive and transmission shafts. The words “speed” and “perfection” do not often belong in the same sentence, but with our newly developed deburring cell, we are able to walk the line between high cycle times and the best possible results: With the aid of robots and special tools, the burrs on the intersecting bore holes can be mechanically removed and at a speed and precision that have rarely been met yet.

The special tool features very high thrusts and rotational speeds (1,000 – 20,000 rpms), resulting in low cycle times (e.g. Deburring one drive shaft with seven cross drill holes takes less than 40 secs.)
